Literary East Texas

Photograph by Nell Blakely. A barefoot boy walking toward the security of home illustrates William Goyen’s poetic novel, The House of Breath, set in the fictional town of Charity, Texas.

Honoring twenty-five of the more than two hundred writers who have called East Texas home, Literary East Texas surveys the literary accomplishments of writers who have lived in and written about East Texas and encourages viewers to take advantage of the diversity and richness of their literary heritage.
