Support Humanities Texas

Support the humanities in Texas by joining the Friends of Humanities Texas. Members receive discounts on books and exhibit rentals and recognition in our reports to the people of Texas.

Your contribution will help support the many vital programs of Humanities Texas, from its Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Awards and summer teacher institutes to its grants program, which supports dozens of public humanities projects across the state each year.

Contributions to the Linden Heck Howell Memorial Fund support the Linden Heck Howell Outstanding Teaching of Texas History Award and the Linden Heck Howell Texas History Grant.

All Friends receive

  • Invitations to humanities programs and events in their area
  • Discounts on Humanities Texas publications and exhibit rental fees

Goals of the Friends of Humanities Texas

  • Promote the importance of the humanities to the education of citizens and to the cultural and intellectual development of Texas
  • Stimulate financial and human resources for projects that further the humanities in Texas
  • Provide timely information on programs and legislative developments in the humanities
  • Acknowledge significant contributions to the advancement of the humanities in Texas
  • Support the work of Humanities Texas in bringing cultural programs to communities throughout the state
