2021 Relief Grant Revised Budget

 

This revised budget form is required for organizations that 1) received less than they originally requested in their original 2021 Relief Grant application, or 2) have changed their budget, plans, and/or programming related to their 2021 Relief Grant. Please complete and submit your revised budget by May 31, 2022. Direct any questions to grants@humanitiestexas.org.

These grants were made possible with a National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH) grant as part of the American Rescue Plan, signed into law in March 2021.

Revised Budget
Please enter a revised budget that corresponds with your 2021 Relief Grant award. The budget should only reflect funds awarded to your organization by Humanities Texas and all budget fields should total the awarded amount. For example, if you received an award of $4,000 your budget should include budget items that total $4,000. Read every budget category description to ensure that you are allocating funds under the correct category.
Include your total request for part-time or full-time personnel who support your general operations, humanities programs, new humanities activities, and/or strategic planning.

If you are requesting Personnel costs, explain them below. The justification should include a dollar amount and explanation for every budget item request. (Example: $4,000 for a full-time program coordinator for 2 months; $1,500 for a part-time administrative assistant for 1 month; etc.).
Include your total request for technical/professional consultants who support your humanities programs, new humanities activities, and/or strategic planning. This category should also be used to request honoraria for program speakers/lecturers/presenters.

If you are requesting Consultant costs, explain them below. The justification should include a dollar amount and explanation for every budget item request. (Example: $1,000 for a web developer for organization website; $500 for a speaker for public programs; etc.).
Include your total request for supplies for your general operations, humanities programs, and/or new humanities activities. Individual items that are worth $5,000 or more are considered “Equipment” and are not eligible for Relief Grant support.

If you are requesting Supply costs, include them below. The justification should include a dollar amount for each request you are making, followed by an explanation. (Example: $1,000 for a scanner for our digital public program, $500 for PPE and sanitary products for our office, etc.).
Include your total request for the promotion of your general operations, humanities programs, and/or new humanities activities.

If you are requesting Promotion costs, include them below. The justification should include a dollar amount and explanation for every budget item request. (Example: $1,000 for online ads for 4 months; $500 for postcard printing and postage; etc.).
Include your total request for other eligible costs that are not part of the previous budget categories. Other funds for operating costs may include: rent, utilities, insurance, web domain fees, shipping, and program/software subscriptions. Other humanities programs/activities costs may include: rentals, exhibition fabrication, and program/software fees.

If you are requesting Other costs, include them below. The justification should include a dollar amount and explanation for every budget item request. (Example: $3,000 for rent for 3 months; $1,500 for water and electricity utilities; $500 for general liability insurance; $200 for a Zoom software subscription; etc.).
