To illustrate the scale, scope, and tragedy of the Civil War, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) created “The Civil War in Four Minutes.” The film features an animated map upon which the entire progress of the war plays out, with continuously shifting battle lines and flare-ups marking major battles. Each second represents seven days of the war. The film is easily one of the most compelling Civil War-related teaching resources that Humanities Texas has encountered. This film is the property of the ALPLM, which has granted Humanities Texas permission to stream it here for educational use. No further reproduction or distribution is allowed without explicit permission of the ALPLM.
