At 3:00 p.m., the Chinati Foundation will hold a conversation between artist Porfirio Gutiérrez and curator Ingrid Schaffner during Chinati Weekend 2023. Schaffner and Gutiérrez will discuss Gutiérrez's practice within the context of both indigenous traditions and contemporary art, highlighting his efforts to revitalize and preserve natural techniques by using plant- and insect-based colors.
