ReCollecting Dogon
Exhibition
The Menil Collection will display an exhibition of art and artifacts of the Dogon society, who are situated in present-day Mali and have played a significant role in the Western understanding of Africa. The project will celebrate Dogon artistry while also examining the historical circumstances that resulted in Dogon culture coming to represent the totality of African culture to Western audiences.
