Teaching the American Revolution (2023 Fall In-Person Workshops)

On September 27 and 28, 2023, Humanities Texas held one-day workshops in San Antonio and Dallas on teaching the American Revolution.

Curriculum

Topics addressed included the coming of the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, turning points of the Revolutionary War, and women and African Americans during the Revolution.

The workshops featured close interaction with scholars, the examination of primary sources, and the development of effective pedagogical strategies and engaging assignments and activities.

Faculty

Workshop faculty included Leslie Alexander (Rutgers University), Zara Anishanslin (University of Delaware), Denver Brunsman (George Washington University), and Sarah Purcell (Grinnell College).
