The Texas Historical Commission’s Museum Services Program invites participation in three upcoming webinars. The webinars are free (registration required) and will be archived on the THC website.
On September 5, "Becoming a Better Leader: Building Practices & Capacity to Care for Yourself & Your Team" will cover leadership in the museum profession. Professionals at any stage in their career will gain insights into how to build leadership skills.
"Environmental Monitoring for Museums: The Basics" will take place on September 19 and cover topics related to maintaining a good environment for museums and their objects. This webinar will explore the basics of how the environment can impact collections, different types of monitoring equipment, ways to combat environment-related issues, and resources to help you get started.
"Collections Management Policies 101," offered on October 16, will cover the basics of a collections management policy (CMP). Mikaela Young from the Bell County Museum will lead the webinar and address how to create or update a CMP as well as offer a step-by-step guide to getting started.
