The Humanities Texas Board of Directors will have vacancies in 2014.

Directors are selected for knowledge of or involvement in the humanities. In electing individuals to serve, Humanities Texas strives for geographical and ethnic representation and for balance between the academic and public spheres. From the academic sector, the board elects teachers, scholars, and educational executives. Public nominees represent a wide variety of professional backgrounds, including business, labor, agriculture, and cultural and civic organizations. Directors serve without compensation but are reimbursed for travel expenses.

Nominations should include a cover letter describing the candidate's qualifications and indicating that he or she is willing to serve and six copies of the nominee's resume. Individuals may nominate themselves for consideration. Nomination materials may be submitted electronically.

The deadline for consideration is October 15, 2013.
