On May 24, 2023, Humanities Texas will host a conversation with Frank Andre Guridy titled "The Texas Sports Revolution: How the Lone Star State Changed the Culture of American Athletics." Guridy is an award-winning historian and professor of history and African American studies at Columbia University. Moderated by Aram Goudsouzian, professor of history at the University of Memphis, the conversation will explore how Texas-based sports entrepreneurs and athletes transformed American sporting culture during the 1960s and 1970s.
