Veterans Day gives our nation an opportunity to celebrate the brave sacrifices and lasting accomplishments of American soldiers. The Humanities Texas exhibition Images of Valor: U.S. Latinos and Latinas of World War II uses historical and contemporary photographs to illustrate the participation of Latinos and Latinas in World War II. The exhibition then considers the active political and social positions they held as veterans in the decades after the war. Images of Valor will be on display at the Austin Public Library, Terrazas Branch, through December 31, 2008. Read more about the exhibition on the exhibition page.
