Humanities Texas is now accepting nominations for Outstanding Teaching Awards to recognize Texans' contributions to humanities education. The Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award recognizes exemplary K–12 humanities teachers. Each year, twelve winners receive a $5,000 cash award and an additional $500 for their respective schools to use in purchasing humanities-based instructional materials. The Linden Heck Howell Outstanding Teaching of Texas History Award recognizes exemplary teachers of courses in Texas history. The winning teacher receives a $5,000 cash award and an additional $500 for his or her school. Download a nomination form to recognize a deserving teacher by December 12, 2008.
