As the new year gains steam, Humanities Texas looks forward to the process of selecting the winners of our 2016 Outstanding Teaching Awards. If you are a teacher who has been nominated for the 2016 awards, congratulations! Your nomination recognizes your extraordinary efforts and accomplishments in the classroom. Now, the next step in the process is yours.

To be considered for the 2016 awards, nominated teachers must complete and submit a physical application to Humanities Texas, postmarked no later than Friday, February 12, 2016. Your nomination itself does not constitute an application for the award. We want to know more about you and what you do. Use this application as an opportunity to elaborate on yourself, your teaching philosophy, and your achievements.

We look forward to reading your applications and hearing about the inspiring work done in schools across Texas every day. This spring, our board of directors will select fifteen recipients who will each receive a $5,000 prize, with an additional $500 for their schools to purchase humanities-based instructional materials.
