Rental Procedures
Humanities Texas exhibitions are designed to appeal to institutions of all sizes and budgets, from small community centers with volunteer support to mid-size museums with curatorial staff. Our program offers a wide variety of topics and formats, high-quality content and supplementary materials, easy installation, and low rental fees. Whether you are an art center with a formal gallery space or a teacher with limited classroom space, we have exhibitions that will meet your programming needs.
Booking
We are currently accepting exhibition bookings for 2025 through 2027. Exhibition overviews are available online to help you select the best exhibitions for your venue. When you are ready to book an exhibition, contact the exhibitions coordinator or complete the online rental form. Please have your preferred booking dates and delivery address information available. Confirmation documents will be sent to you once your reservation has been processed.
Fees
Rental fees are based primarily on the cost of shipping. Prices may vary based on current fuel surcharges or venue location within the state of Texas. Out-of-state rentals are priced on an individual basis. Exhibition rental periods can be extended at $200 per additional week. Payment is expected within 30 days of receiving the exhibition via check or card. Please contact the exhibitions coordinator for a rental fee quote specific to your venue.
Shipping
All shipping is coordinated by and billed to Humanities Texas. The exhibition will arrive at your location prepaid at least a day in advance of your scheduled opening date. Please visit the exhibition overview on our website to assess the crate dimensions for your rental, as you are responsible for storing the crates while the exhibition is on display. Approximately one week before the end of your exhibition, we will send you specific instructions and materials for forwarding the exhibition to its next destination.
Grant Opportunities
Exhibition grants fund up to $2,500 of the costs associated with the rental of a Humanities Texas traveling exhibition and related programming. Exhibitions must be booked through the exhibitions coordinator before applying for a grant.
Eligible organizations include, but are not limited to, museums, libraries, cultural centers, historical associations, city governments, county judge offices, community colleges, and school districts in Texas.
