Teaching The Odyssey (Spring 2026 Webinar Series)

On February 11 and 18, 2026, Humanities Texas held a two-part webinar series for English language arts teachers on teaching The Odyssey at the secondary level.

Curriculum

Content aligned with the secondary-level English language arts (ELA) TEKS. The interactive sessions introduced strategies and resources to engage students in reading The Odyssey.

Like all Humanities Texas teacher programs, the webinar series emphasized close interaction with scholars, the examination of texts, and the development of effective pedagogical strategies and engaging assignments and activities.

The webinar series was led by Deborah Beck (The University of Texas at Austin).
