Antiwar Demonstration Outside the White House, 1967

Many people, especially young people, took to the streets in opposition to the Vietnam War. Some not only protested the Vietnam War, but advocated that the government do more to address social injustices. In 1962, the Students for a Democratic Society issued the “Port Huron Statement” explaining their standpoint.
