Barry Goldwater, 1962

Five-term U.S. Senator from Arizona, Barry Goldwater ran for president against President Johnson in 1964. Known as “Mr. Conservative,” Goldwater was critical of the legacy of the New Deal. Ronald Reagan delivered his famous speech “A Time for Choosing” at the 1964 Republic Convention in support of Goldwater's candidacy.
