Daniel Walker Howe delivers a keynote lecture on June 6, 2016, at Bayou Bend Collections and Gardens in Houston, Texas. Howe's presentation was part of "America from Jefferson to Jackson," a four-day professional development institute for Texas teachers. This lecture was made possible in part by the Pulitzer Prize Centennial Campfires Initiative, a joint venture of the Pulitzer Prize Board and the Federation of State Humanities Councils.
