Humanities Texas is pleased to request proposals from Texas public libraries for programs that encourage and support family reading practices and foster literacy.

Programs drawing on Texas and regional literature that advance understanding and appreciation of our state's diverse cultures are especially encouraged. Programs should be scheduled to begin no earlier than December 1, 2015.


Awards 

Awards of up to $5,000 are available. Partial awards are possible.

Please follow the instructions and use the appropriate forms for applying for a Humanities Texas Major Grant for Community Projects.  

Application deadlines and instructions

Please submit a letter of intent by August 17, 2015. Applications must be postmarked on or before September 15, 2015. Follow the submission instructions detailed in the Community Project Grant application form. Applications should indicate some of the readings the programs propose to use.

Guidelines

Programs must be free and directed primarily to the general public outside of the regular school or college classroom. General guidelines are available in the Grants section of the Humanities Texas website.
