Since the completion of the project in August 2010, the Byrne-Reed House restoration has received ten architectural awards and has been designated an Austin Historic Landmark.


Texas Masonry Council Golden Trowel Award 

  • Awarded to Byrne-Reed House Restoration project team in July 2012.

Texas Downtown Association Presidents Award for Best Restoration 

  • Awarded to Byrne-Reed House Restoration project team in November 2011.

The Institute of Classical Architecture (Texas Chapter) John Staub Honor Award

  • Awarded to Byrne-Reed House Restoration project team in September 2011.

AIA Austin Design Awards Citation of Honor

  • Awarded to Clayton&Little for the Byrne-Reed House Restoration in April 2011

Austin Business Journal Best Real Estate Award for Rehabilitation

  • Awarded to Byrne-Reed House Restoration project team in April 2011.

Austin Historic Landmark

  • Approved unanimously by the City of Austin Historic Landmarks Commission, Planning Commission, and City Council in March 2011.

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Historic Presentation Recognition Award

  • Awarded to Humanities Texas for Byrne-Reed House Restoration in March 2011.

Preservation Texas Preservation Honor Award

  • Awarded to Byrne-Reed House Restoration project team in March 2011.

Texas Historical Commission Award of Excellence in Historic Architecture

  • Awarded to Clayton&Little for Byrne-Reed House Restoration in February 2011

Texas Construction’s Best Renovation/Restoration Project

  • Awarded to Byrne-Reed House Restoration project team in December 2010.

Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc Excellence in Construction Award for Historical Restoration

  • Awarded to Journeyman Construction, Inc. for Byrne-Reed House Restoration in October 2010.
