On January 14, 2025, Humanities Texas held a webinar on strategies for teaching the Harlem Renaissance by incorporating digital humanities tools, augmented and virtual reality, and artificial intelligence.
Content was aligned with the secondary-level English language arts (ELA) TEKS. This webinar provided actionable strategies for enhancing classroom learning about the Harlem Renaissance era through the use of digital tools and resources, augmented and virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. The session introduced educators to powerful tools and applications, demonstrating how to engage students with the period and its key figures through immersive experiences relating to Harlem, New York.
Like all Humanities Texas teacher programs, the webinar emphasized close interaction with scholars, the examination of texts, and the development of effective pedagogical strategies and engaging assignments and activities.
