Teaching STEM Advances and Milestones in U.S. History (Spring 2026 Webinar)

On March 3, 2026, Humanities Texas will hold a webinar facilitated by IEEE REACH (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) to introduce teachers to a variety of resources and strategies that situate science, technology, and engineering in their social and humanistic contexts.

Schedule and Curriculum

The webinar will take place over Zoom from 5:00–6:15 p.m. CT on March 3, 2026.

Content will be aligned with the TEKS. Led by IEEE's education professionals, this interactive session will offer strategies for understanding and analyzing major milestones in science, technology, and engineering in U.S. history and will help students develop visual literacy, historical thinking, and analysis skills in classroom. Teachers will come away with practical teaching strategies and ideas for lesson extensions.

Like all Humanities Texas teacher programs, the webinar will emphasize the development of effective pedagogical strategies and engaging assignments and activities.

Faculty

Kelly McKenna and Michael N. Geselowitz of IEEE REACH will lead the webinar.
