In 2025, Humanities Texas will hold in-person and online programs for classroom teachers covering topics in U.S. history, government, Texas history, and English language arts.


From June 3–6, 2025, Humanities Texas will partner with Texas Tech University to hold a professional development institute for Texas teachers on U.S history from 1980 to 2008.

From June 9–12, 2025, Humanities Texas will partner with The University of Texas at Austin to hold a professional development institute for Texas teachers on best practices and new resources for teaching writing.

From June 16–18, 2025, Humanities Texas will partner with the University of North Texas to hold a professional development institute for Texas teachers on Texas history from 1900–1950.

From June 24–27, 2025, Humanities Texas will partner with the University of Houston to hold a professional development institute for Texas teachers on teaching twentieth-century U.S. literature.

On July 7, 8, and 9, 2025, Humanities Texas will hold a webinar series that provides social studies teachers with resources and tools to teach about milestone topics in U.S. history in their constitutional context.

On July 7 and 8, 2025, Humanities Texas will hold a webinar series for English language arts teachers exploring the history of the changes and continuity in the canon of most commonly-assigned books since the 1960s and past and contemporary approaches to teaching classic texts.

On July 14, 2025, Humanities Texas will hold a webinar for secondary English language arts teachers on teaching film adaptations of books that are commonly taught at the secondary level.

On July 15 and 16, 2025, Humanities Texas will hold a webinar series to introduce teachers to the  Last Seen: Finding Family After Slavery  project and accompanying resources available for classroom use.
